Breast Imaging Institute at Barzilai Medical Center continues a successful tradition
The Breast Imaging Institute is praised by the Ministry of Health, Israel Cancer Association and head of Early Detection Program.
For the eighth consecutive year the Breast Imaging Institute, headed by Dr. David Georgiou is praised by the Ministry of Health, Israel Cancer Association and Prof. Gad Rennert Head of Early Detection Program.
Each year all mammography centers in Israel are tested and reviewed based on data and standards.
The Breast Imaging Institute Barzilai Medical Center not only meets all the high standards laid down for imaging centers, but also obtained higher results.
In the final report for 2010 the reviewers noted that the Breast Imaging Institute at Barzilai scored very high achievements in detecting tumors at very early stages. With 70% tested women the tumor was detected at stage 1 and in 10% tested women the tumor was detected at stage 0 (In SITU). Detection rate of invasive tumors in the screening program is high
(5.1 / 1,000 tested) compared to the national average (4.5 / 1,000).
The report, concluded by the Ministry of Health and head of breast cancer early detection program, praised and congratulated the institute for its continuing achievements.
