About the Gynecology and Obstetrics Array

The gynecology and obstetrics array is a focus of excellence for everything that relates to the health of the woman.  

High-risk pregnancy women with multiple-fetus pregnancies, pregnant women who have diseases such as diabetes and hypertension and pregnant women who had complications in the past, are followed-up regularly in the high-risk pregnancy clinic. When needed, they are hospitalized in the high-risk pregnancy unit for close follow up and treatment and complications.

Pregnant women admitted to the delivery room get a professional and personal attention in order to fulfill their aspirations.

Diseases of the gynecologic system: vulva, uterus, ovaries and ovarian tubes, are treated in the gynecology clinic / department. We perform all types of surgeries: hysteroscopic, open, laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures. Some of the procedures are performed in the surgical day care section. The patient remains for a few hours of observation after the procedure and then released home.

The fertility unit is another service of the gynecology and obstetrics array. Women who have difficulty in getting pregnant and those who need in vitro fertilization including PGD can refer to the clinic. Procedures are performed in the gynecologic day care unit. We have also a clinic for male fertility problems where tests are done for sperm motility and vitality.

Ultrasonography of the female genital system has become one of the most important tools for diagnosing genital system diseases and for pregnancy follow-up. Beside diagnostic procedures, ultrasonography is used for the minimally invasive procedures. For example, the gynecologist can direct the biopsy needle exactly to the right ovary, to the right mass and retrieve oocytes.
