Types of Ultrasound Examinations

• Follow up of pelvic malignancies
• Simestrial obstetric follow up
• Nuchal translucency and fetal systems review for congenital defects
• Three dimensional ultrasonography for detecting inherited defects
• Follicles follow up in cases of infertility

Ultrasound guided invasive procedures

• Amniotic fluid aspiration for fetal karyotyping, fetal chromosomal array (genetic chip), Fish test (fluorescence in situ hybridization), storing amniotic fluid for cell and DNA retrieval.
• Transabdominal aspiration of ascites, ovarian cysts, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (IHSS) and progressing ovarian malignancies.
• Fetal reduction in multifetal pregnancies
• Selective fetal reduction in case of deformities in a multifetal pregnancy.
• Fetal blood transfusion in cases of Rh incompatibility and severe anemia.
• Amniotic aspiration in cases of monochorionic bi-amniotic twins with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.
