About the surgical units

Surgery of the liver, bile ducts, gall bladder and pancreas.

Head of the section: Dr. Ochanna Gil

Procedures are performed for diseases of the pancreas- pancreatitis, pancreatic cysts, primary pancreatic tumors; primary tumors of the liver, liver metastases; primary tumors of the biliary system and repair of injuries to the biliary system.

Surgery of the lower gastrointestinal tract

We perform Procedures for removal of colon polyps and colorectal carcinomas, tumors of the small intestines using the open access and the laparoscopic method. Treatment of prolapse of the rectum is done with different methods: the anal and the laparoscopic methods.

Surgery of the upper gastrointestinal tract and bariatric surgeries

Head of the section: Dr. MIntz Yaron

Most of the procedures are done with laparoscopy including resection of benign and malignant tumors of the esophagus and the stomach, achalasia, gastroesophageal reflux and diaphragmatic hernia.

All types of minimally invasive bariatric surgeries are performed in the department, including intra-gastric balloon insertion, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and duodenal bypass. Patients are strictly selected after being examined by multi-professional team that includes a social worker, endocrinologist, dietician, anesthesiologist, cardiologist, and other professionals when needed. We have a new three- dimensional camera and intra-operative ultrasound that assists the surgeon to diagnose certain pathologies of the abdomen and the rectum.

Proctology and pelvic floor procedures

Head of the section: Dr. Lerner Igor

We deal with all the diseases of the rectum including hemorrhoids: ligation, the HAL_RAR Doppler guided hemorrhoid artery ligation, stapler ligation, standard and video assisted anal fistula treatment (VAAFT), and endoscopic resection of benign and malignant rectal tumors that improves patient recovery.

Concerning the pelvic floor, we perform anal manometry and transrectal ultrasound to detect pathologies that lead to defecation problems. According to the diagnosis, we suggest to the patient surgery, physiotherapy and biofeedback solutions.

Breast Diseases

Head of the section: Dr. Libshitz Ilia

Treatment of breast diseases includes cooperation of radiologist, pathologist and, in case of malignancy, plastic surgeon, oncologist, social worker and a coordinator nurse. Both, the social worker and the coordinator nurse, carry on with the patient through all the stages of the treatment.

Women come to the clinic for either regular checkup or when they feel a lump in their breast. The first step of diagnosing the lump after physical examination is mammography and or ultrasonography. When surgical removal is indicated, we use the marginprobe for intraoperative margin assessment during lumpectomy.

Surgery of hernias

Head of the section: Dr. Goldenstein Dimitri

Hernias are repaired using different methods according to the patient, age, comorbidities and recurrence of the hernia: open, laparoscopic, with and without mesh.

Chest surgery

Head of the section: Dr. Ponomarenko Oleg

Different surgeries are done in the chest surgery unit including: partial and total pneumonectomy, chest drainage, resection of mediastinal mass, repair of diaphragmatic hernia and trauma to the diaphragm, thoracotomy for hyperhidrosis, resection of tumor of the esophagus and others. Some of the operations are performed using the minimal invasive method and some using the open access.

Vascular surgery

Head of the section: Dr. Meizler Olga

All types of venous and arterial surgeries using open and endovascular methods are available, including endovascular repair of aortic aneurysm.
