Maya came back to deliver a new life in Barzilai

Maya Bider, a nurse midwife working in the delivery room at the Barzilai medical center in Ashkelon, left her house in Netiv Ha-a'ssara close to the border of Gazza district to her parents' house far away from the area since the damn day of 7th of October. Nevertheless, she decided to come back to the work that she loves most, her second house: the delivery room.

Maya sees her work as a mission and she is grateful for the privilege to be a nurse midwife. Every delivery re-excites her – "It is a privilege to be in a place that brings life", she said.

And today, two weeks after the horrible terrorist attack, Maya got the privilege to deliver a new baby.

"It was a wonderful, empowering and exciting experience", she continued. "The delivery itself was full of joy and laughter of the mother, Morya, her husband Aharon and her sister Fanny".
