Smoking at the Hospital

Smoking is prohibited inside the patients’ rooms, in the hospital departments, stairwells, elevator foyer and in all the interior areas. Smoking is permitted solely in open areas. Smoking harms both healthy people and hospitalized patients and it is mandatory to preserve clean air in order to enable the rapid recovery of the patients. There are oxygen and medical gas systems at the hospital that could ignite or intensify the fire if it breaks out.

Patients and visitors are requested to respect the Law Prohibiting Smoking in Public Places and to refrain from unnecessary confrontations with the hospital staff and the security personnel. Enforcement of the Law Prohibiting Smoking in Public Places is carried out regularly by the Ashkelon Municipality inspectors.
