Vision of the department

To Supply services of cleaning and disinfection around the departments and the public areas of the Barzilai medical center, while keeping strict attention to the safety rules that meet the international JCI standards, the standards of the local infection control unit and the standards of the Israel Ministry of Health.

Main Activities

• Cleaning services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Pest control – Supervising the pest control contractor, assisting the technical department personnel to identify defects for sealing.
• Cleaning the gardens, pavements, disposal of garbage: regular, medical, chemical and cytotoxic waste.
• Separation of re-use waste.
• Transporting medical and non-medical supplies to the different departments and units.
• Transporting patients throughout the departments.
• Coordinating transfer of corpses with Hevra Kadisha for burying.
• Coordinating transfer of corpses with the police.
• Signage around the hospital premises according to the management requirements.
• Transporting old medical files to the medical departments.
• Preparation of halls for seminars and conferences including arrangement of tables, chairs, food, etc.
• Housekeeping of several houses for students, doctors on duties, families of Shabbat observant patients.
