Main Activities of the reception and discharge office

Reception and discharge of the patients through the computerized system of the hospital.

Control of the payment documents from the HMOs.

Control of the bills from the emergency department and the hospital departments, and transferring them to the collection office.

Transfer of the discharge letters to the national computerized system that enables the physicians of all the HMOs to see the medical history of the patient.

Transfer of the discharge letters to the HMOS controllers.

Activation of the National Reception Software, "ADAM", on mass casualty events. This national reception software enables all the hospital managers and the social workers around the country to see the information of the injured people admitted to the different hospitals, to contact the patients' families and to direct them to the specific hospital.
Special Services
Newborns
The office is responsible for:

Registration of all the live newborns.

Issuing national identity number for the newborn.

Reporting to the National Insurance Institute.
Deaths
The discharge office is responsible for issuing burial licenses to all the persons who died inside the hospital, inside the emergency department, and also those who died outside the hospital. In certain cases, the officers of the discharge office may need a letter from the police in order to issue the burial license.
In case of an unidentified body, the officers will wait for the identification from the police in order to issue the burial license.
